1. Restart your router. The classic “have you turned it off and on” solution. Sometimes restarting your router is all that it takes for the internet connection to get better, and for ping to get lower. Simply press that off button on your router, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on again. 2. Restart your device.
Launch your Settings app. Select "Network & internet" from the left pane. Scroll down to "Advanced network settings." Under "More settings," choose "Network reset." Click on the "Reset now" button
Sometimes residential internet traffic gets routed wierd and leads to higher than usual ping. And large proper VPN services make use of enterprise grade routing and may lead to lower ping even though you're connecting to another server. This all relies on the VPN provider being closer to you than riots servers. LegendsQuakke • 2 yr. ago.
League of Legends is the only game where I get ping spikes using wifi. This has been occurring since 2014, throughout this time, I have changed laptops, internet providers, locations, and every factor imaginable besides league of legends. I do not have this ping spike in any other games, maybe once in awhile but it seems like for some reason
Edit: It's either Converge or Garena, I have very low latency when it comes to other games but the lol.garena.ph connection seems to just go berserk with like 120ms. I'm using PLDT and my friend is also having a ping issue (dk what his isp is) even though his internet is also fine. He said it is a server issue instead.
I'm running pings and showing ping latency to google.com at 15-46ms (wireless) with the League client closed, or with it open and in the queue. Once the game starts (map loads, champions in place), ping times to google.com and ping times in-game jump immediately to 700-3500ms and stay there until I kill the League client, at which point the ping times to google.com immediately recover.
Just replied to another post, same issues in US.I have symmetrical gigabit fiber with gaming PC connected directly to the routed so no issues with Wi-Fi or interference, I play on West Coast servers (Oregon/Salt Lake City) and my ping nearly tripled from 23-27ms to 90-100ms with no changes made to my PC or network connection.
For a week now my ping has been spiking to 600 every 10 seconds, I had no idea why it was doing this and it was frustrating me to no end. Also for a week I have had Windows 10. If you have a shit-tier ISP like me, 5 down 5 up, you can't afford things running in the background when playing games.
